Description

Tank Setup:
  • Size: Minimum of 75 gallons for adult specimens. 
  • Decor: Provide ample hiding places like caves, driftwood, and rocks. 
  • Substrate: Sand, gravel, or a mix, with rounded stones and boulders for vertical surfaces and crevices. 
  • Filtration: Strong biological and mechanical filtration, along with good water flow to keep the substrate clean. 
  • Water Flow: Mimic their natural habitat with moderate to strong current. 
Water Parameters:
  • Temperature: 25 to 30°C (77 to 86°F). 
  • pH: 6.5 to 7.5. 
  • Water Quality: They are sensitive to poor water quality, so regular water changes are important. 
Diet:
  • Omnivorous: They are omnivores and require a varied diet. 
  • Foods: High-quality sinking pellets, wafers, and supplement with fresh vegetables like zucchini and cucumber. 
  • Target Feeding: Because of their nocturnal habits, target feed them once or twice a week with tablet or disc foods given at night.
