Description
A Silent-Bid auction is a type of auction process in which all bidders simultaneously submit Silent bids to the auctioneer, so that no bidder knows how much the other auction participants have bid. The highest bidder is usually declared the winner of the bidding process.
Tank Setup:
- Size:Â Minimum of 75 gallons for adult specimens.Â
- Decor:Â Provide ample hiding places like caves, driftwood, and rocks.Â
- Substrate:Â Sand, gravel, or a mix, with rounded stones and boulders for vertical surfaces and crevices.Â
- Filtration:Â Strong biological and mechanical filtration, along with good water flow to keep the substrate clean.Â
- Water Flow:Â Mimic their natural habitat with moderate to strong current.Â
Water Parameters:
- Temperature: 25 to 30°C (77 to 86°F).Â
- pH:Â 6.5 to 7.5.Â
- Water Quality:Â They are sensitive to poor water quality, so regular water changes are important.Â
Diet:
- Omnivorous:Â They are omnivores and require a varied diet.Â
- Foods:Â High-quality sinking pellets, wafers, and supplement with fresh vegetables like zucchini and cucumber.Â
- Target Feeding:Â Because of their nocturnal habits, target feed them once or twice a week with tablet or disc foods given at night.Â
