The Royal Knifefish is an impressive and highly distinctive predatory species, instantly recognisable by its elongated body, flowing movement, and striking banded pattern. A true centrepiece fish, it brings elegance and presence to large, well-planned aquariums.

Best suited to experienced aquarists, Royal Knifefish are nocturnal hunters that require plenty of swimming space, subdued lighting, and secure hiding areas. They are intelligent, responsive fish but are not suitable for community setups due to their predatory nature.
