Overview

Discus are iconic freshwater fish prized for their striking colours, elegant shape, and graceful movement. Below is a quick reference guide to their care requirements:

• Diet: Omnivorous. Thrives on a varied diet including quality discus pellets, frozen or live foods such as bloodworms, mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp

Special Care Requirements:
Discus should be kept in groups of at least 5–6 individuals to reduce stress and encourage natural behaviour. Stable water parameters are critical—regular water changes are strongly recommended. Provide gentle water flow, ample hiding spaces using driftwood, rocks, and dense planting, as well as clear horizontal swimming space. Discus are highly sensitive to dissolved metals and organic waste; the use of RO water is strongly recommended.
